Restrictions on Tobacco

  • The Bill will introduce a generational ban on tobacco products so that anyone born on or after 1st January 2009 will never be legally able to purchase tobacco (Vaping will remain available to anyone over the age of 18).

  • It also includes powers to extend smoking bans to include certain outdoor spaces, which likely include playgrounds, outside schools and hospital grounds.

Restrictions on Vapes

All tobacco and nicotine products brought under a more flexible regulatory framework where Government has more scope to quickly introduce new rules on:

  • Packaging

  • Labelling

  • Products standards.

SGF will continue to keep retailers informed of developments relating to this Bill, ensuring they clearly understand their obligations regarding the sale of tobacco and vape products.
