SGF General Election Hustings, Falkirk - 1.10pm – 2.10pm, 11th June

Next week on the 11th of June 2024, SGF will be hosting a General Election Hustings event. We would ask attendees to arrive at 1pm and the event will run from 1.10pm – 2.10pm.

It will take place at the Macdonald Inchyra Hotel, Falkirk. Chairing the hustings will be BBC Scotland’s Gary Robertson.

We will have representation from six leading political parties in Scotland. Our excellent panel so far includes:

• Brian Whittle MSP – Scottish Conservatives

• Daniel Johnson MSP – Scottish Labour

• Ivan Mckee MSP – Scottish National Party

• Kenny Macaskill – ALBA

• Willie Rennie MSP – Scottish Liberal Democrats

• TBC - Scottish Green Party

Topics will cover a range of areas impacting Scottish business and the convenience sector. Looking at both reserved and devolved matters and the approach of each party to issues such as retail crime, economic stability & taxation, overregulation, and the National Living Wage. Attendees will have the opportunity to direct questions to the politicians on the panel.    

The hustings will be held following the conclusion of the annual SGF Mini-Summit, which will take place earlier in the day (8.30am – 1pm) at the same location. Parking available.

It would be great to see as many people as possible there at what will be an important event for our sector.
