Your invitation: Cross Party Group on Independent Convenience stores – 16th September

Environmental Regulation Compliance (inc. disposable vape ban update)

The next meeting of SGF's Cross Party Group on Independent Convenience Stores, scheduled for 16th September at 6pm, in-person at the Scottish Parliament, committee room 6.

The meeting will focus on environmental regulations that are currently impacting the convenience sector. It will discuss retailer’s responsibilities to four environmental policies. This is the same topic that was originally planned for our postponed meeting in June. The topics and speakers are:

  • Single-use vape ban – Christopher Bell, The Society of Chief Officers of Trading Standards (SCOTSS)

  • Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment regulations (WEEE) – Nigel Tomlinson, Gap-Group UK

  • Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) – Ross Cowie, SEPA

  • Deposit Return Scheme (DRS) – Jonathan Kemp, UK DMO

Following the presentations, there will be an opportunity for a Q&A session with our speakers and MSPs present.

We would greatly value your participation in what promises to be an interesting discussion.
