Upcoming consultations - Scotland’s Food Strategy, Future of the Post Office & Business Rates appeals
There are a number of important consultations taking place in the coming months. SGF intends to submit a response to the following:
Food Standards Scotland strategy 2026 to 2031 – 14th Sept. Food Standards Scotland (FSS) are looking for feedback on the draft strategy for Food Standards Scotland for 2026-31 from the public, local authorities and those working across the food system in Scotland.
Green Paper: Future of Post Office – 6th Oct. This is a UK government public consultation that seeks views on the future of the Post Office, from the services it provides, how it modernises and strengthens the network, through to how to change the culture and the way in which the Post Office is managed. Responses to this consultation will be used to understand what customers, communities and postmasters would like to see from a modern Post Office, to help shape the company’s future.
Fees for appeals on non-domestic rating valuations – 8th Oct. This Scottish Government consultation seeks views on the potential introduction of fees for appeals on non-domestic rating valuations lodged with Local Taxation Chamber of the First-tier Tribunal for Scotland.
Late payments consultation: tackling poor payment practices - 23rd Oct - This consultation seeks views on a package of proposed legislative measures to address late, long and disputed business to business (B2B) payments. The consultation will run from 31 July 2025 to 23 October 2025. The proposals aim to improve cash flow through supply chains and support small businesses with payment disputes.
