SGF to hold Scottish Parliament election Husting’s event
Following the conclusion of the SGF Diversity & Inclusion Conference, the Scottish Grocers’ Federation will host a special Scottish Parliament Election Hustings on 23 April 2026.
This timely event will bring together key political voices to discuss the issues that matter most to Scotland’s convenience retail sector as the nation prepares for the 2026 Scottish Parliament Election.
The hustings will be chaired by Andy Maciver, Director of strategic communications from Message Matters and we anticipate a robust and insightful discussion between parliamentary candidates from all major Scottish Parties.
With the election approaching on 7th May, this is an important moment for retailers to make their voices heard and gain clarity on the commitments of Scotland’s political parties. We will confirm panellists attending the event in due course.
We encourage all delegates of the Diversity & Inclusion Conference to stay on for what promises to be a highly informative and thought‑provoking event.
You can view the SGF Manifesto 2026, which sets out the key priorities and policy asks for Scotland’s convenience sector ahead of the Scottish Parliament Election. The manifesto highlights the actions needed to support local businesses, tackle retail crime, reduce regulatory pressures, and help the sector continue serving communities across Scotland. We encourage all attendees to review the manifesto to better understand the issues being raised with political parties and the commitments being sought on behalf of the convenience industry.
