SGF Manifesto: Scottish Parliament Election 2026

May 2026 will be a critical election for both the Scottish convenience sector and for the communities which we serve. So, we are very pleased to share with you the Scottish Grocers’ Federation election manifesto, published this week.   

Our short manifesto, attached, introduces some of the headline statistics for our sector, highlighting the importance of convenience stores and the lifeline services they provide at the very heart of their community. Along with addressing several key government policy areas which are impacting small retail businesses across Scotland.

This includes suggestions on how to reduce the devastating impact of Retail Crime on staff & businesses, support for businesses through reform of Non-Domestic Rates reliefs, and a brief mention of topical but reserved areas, such as the Cost of Employment for small businesses.
