SGF Annual Conference 2025 - Retail Matters
The SGF Conference 2025 took place on Wednesday 1st October and it brought together key voices from across the convenience and retail sector for a vital discussion on the future of our industry. Under the theme “Retail Matters – Valuing our Sector, Confronting the Challenges”, the event shone a spotlight on the essential role retail plays in our communities and economy.
Hosted by STV’s Rona Dougall with Allwyn as the headline sponsor, the day included keynote speeches, including from the Deputy First Minister Kate Forbes, interactive sessions, and networking opportunities. We explored the true value of our sector, addressed the pressing challenges we face – from rising costs to regulatory pressures – and showcased the innovation and resilience that continue to drive us forward.
The conference also featured our largest trade exhibition of the year, excellent breakout sessions hosted by a wide range of companies, and business sessions with knowledgeable and engaging speakers.
In the evening, delegates enjoyed the Gala Dinner, hosted by SGF President Graham Watson, which featured a lively panel session with the excellent Scottish Men’s World Champion Curling Team.
