LPC consultation 2026 published

The Low Pay Commission (LPC) has published its call for written evidence for 2026. Submissions are being sought to inform recommendations that will be made to the Government in October regarding minimum wage rates for 2027 and beyond. The consultation letter is available both as an attachment and online, and written evidence can be submitted via email to lpc@lowpay.gov.uk. In addition, a simplified version of the consultation is being hosted on an online platform, targeted at individual workers and employers.

A short report examining the immediate impacts of the new National Minimum Wage rates has also been published. The Government’s latest remit to the Commission was issued on 16 March 2026.

As part of its evidence-gathering process, the Commission meets with people and organisations across the UK to gather first-hand insights on the minimum wage. It is currently undertaking a series of in-person regional visits and will continue to hold meetings and discussions online alongside these. SGF will be attending this with some of our members.

Responses to the consultation are requested by Friday 26 June.
