Low Pay Commission consultation 2025
The Low Pay Commission (LPC) is inviting submissions to inform its recommendations to the Government on minimum wage rates in 2026 and beyond.
The Low Pay Commission is the independent body which advises the Government on the levels of the National Minimum Wage (NMW), including the National Living Wage (NLW). The commission is seeking input to shape the recommendations they will make to the Government this autumn, on minimum wage rates to apply from April 2026.
SGF will be providing a response to this consultation and has been engaging with the LPC during this process. In April, we published our Real Business Cost of Employment paper 2025, in partnership with the University of Stirling. This paper highlights the true cost of employment for retailers when paying the minimum wage rates.
The consultation closes on 30 June 2025. You can read more on the consultation and respond to it here.
