Glasgow’s Events Strategy 2035 – Glasgow Life

The attached presentation was provided to SGF as a member of the Glasgow City Council Licensing Forum on 13th May 2025.

The intention of the strategy is to build a unifying vision and direction for events over the next decade, including:

• Review Glasgow’s Events Strategy 2030 and Approach in context of comparative cities, future environments, and current socio-political developments

• Develop a refreshed city-wide Glasgow Events Strategy to 2035 and an action plan to deliver it

• Consider linkages to business events and the work of the Glasgow Convention Bureau in harnessing the value of major events and utilising event governance model to realise this

• Consult and engage with the city’s key stakeholders and comparative cities internationally to capture views and intelligence to inform the strategy and action plan

• Develop a customer focused approach to structuring the creation, discussion, leveraging and delivery of events in the city
